Cornish Silver Mussel shell bangle
Cornish silver mussel shell bangle which has been made by casting a tiny shell which I found on Gwithian beach into silver. The piece was then enamelled with transparent blue shades which allow the silver to shine through, and finished by firing fine gold leaf into the enamel. I have experimented by mixing many shades of enamel to achieve this beautiful pale blue and navy which is as close as I can get to the colour of the actual shell. These colours look great with casual jeans or for a more dressed up occasion such as a beach wedding or a graduation. This bangle would be the perfect gift for anyone who loves the sea or for anyone who enjoys the gastronomic delights that mussels are!
The Cornish silver mussel shell bangle is made by hand in textured silver with melted silver discs which mimic the surface of the sea worn rocks around the north Cornish coast.
The tiny mussel shell measures approximately 22mm and the bangle is available in three sizes, small (19-20cm circumference) medium (20-21cm circumference) and large (21-22cm circumference). To obtain this measurement, use a tape measure around the widest part of the hand (with the thumb folded in)
This bangle is made from sterling silver which has been hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office. The transparent blue enamels are applied by firing onto the silver.
