This is your opportunity to make your own gold wedding rings in the gorgeous county of Cornwall using a handful of sand from your favourite beach.  If Cornwall is special to you or you are getting married here, there can be no better way to include the essence of the county into your rings. You can also, of course, bring sand from any beach that is meaningful to you.  The most important thing that it is fun and you don’t need to have had any previous experience.

Most of us care deeply about the environment and we like to recycle where we can, so this is a chance to bring along your own metal, if you have it.  If you prefer, you can use my metal for an extra charge.

Your rings can be as textured or as smooth as you would like and can also be made in various shapes and sizes.  It is also possible to make completely smooth and shiny rings using a similar method. You could even make one shiny and one textured.   Please contact me to discuss your requirements before booking.

At my studio in West Cornwall you will receive up to 6 hours of my expert tuition and supervision in making your own silver or gold wedding or affirmation rings.  You will be carving your ring in wax which will then be used to make a mould into which we will pour the molten metal (I do the actual pouring, though you can melt the metal) .  The resulting rings will then need to be filed and refined by you to make them smooth on the inside and comfortable to wear.

This is the perfect gift for a couple preparing for their special day. How romantic to receive this from your future bride or groom as a gift! You could also buy this experience for yourself, a friend or relative.

THE PRICE IS FOR 2 PEOPLE and includes lunch and refreshments, plus photographs of your day.

LOCATION: The location is Cornwall and the nearest railway station is Camborne, which is 5 minutes walking distance away. Ample parking is available on the road outside the studio or in the driveway.

DURATION: Up to 5hrs. The day starts at 10am and ends when you are happy with your finished rings.

This experience includes 2 silver rings, measuring 2mm, 3mm, or 4mm wide. There is an additional supplement for making the rings in either 9ct or 18ct gold, unless you bring your own gold.  Alternative widths or shapes of rings available on request in advance of the day.  If you would like your gold rings hallmarked, there is an additional charge of £30 for this.

Please allow at least 10 days for me to purchase the metals.  If you are bringing your own gold, we will need approximately 10-20 grams per ring, depending on the width of ring you choose.

If your engagement ring is an unusual shape and you would like your wedding ring to fit around it, please send me a photo of your ring first to be sure it is possible.  There may be an additional charge for a shaped ring which we can discuss when you make your booking.  Please note that it is unlikely that we will be able to engrave a personalised message on this type of ring.  If you require personalisation, I will need to send your rings away to be engraved by laser, which will be an additional cost.

You will need to book your experience in advance and these usually take place at weekends, though other days may be available. You and your partner will have exclusive use of the studio on the day. Please wear comfortable clothing with no hanging scarves etc. for safety reasons. Long hair should be tied back and you will need to wear closed in shoes to prevent any accidental burns to the feet. All tools and equipment are provided. Lunch will normally be homemade soup and crusty bread, followed by dessert.  We can cater for any dietary requirements and would need to know in advance if you require alternatives. This experience is unsuitable for those under the age of 16.
